We know perfectly well, what to do when we’re going strong: we party, dance, laugh, give speeches and hug. But we have very few skills to deal with ourselves when things go downhill and the fabric of reality is slowly torn apart – and there, instead of the bright jewel of truth, an indifferent and meaningless chaos appears. There is no etiquette for this. There are no social rituals for this – other than oblivion. And this chaos can become a habit. In these moments it's good if the people who for some weird reason still love us have left their lamp on – and their light shines brighly into the all-consuming abyss of our own black hole.
„Alina“ is based on the play by the Finnish writer Elli Salo. It’s a play about addiction, co-dependency and people who just can't handle the world on their own. But it is also a play about an endless winter night, redeemed by the first snowflake. And a play about the principle not to throw broken things and people away - even when it seems there’s no room left for them.
Must Kast (Black Box), as a stage, is something that is opened for every possibility, where “theatre magic” can be born out of thin air. Must Kast (Black Box), as a theatre, thrives from that very idea. We believe in theater, where everything is possible. We believe in theater that does not manifest itself through words but by actions. We believe in theater that grows with its audience. We believe in theater that could reach everybody, but without making any compromises in quality. www.teatermustkast.ee
