„Static/Static“ is an immersive audiovisual composition for oboe and three CRT televisions, exploring the world through the eyes of individuals with Visual Snow Syndrome. The three televisions, each displaying flickering static, represent the constant disruption of vision experienced by those with the condition.
The piece weaves together fragmented interviews from four individuals with visual snow, offering a glimpse into their daily reality. The oboe and various samples of everyday noise along with electronic textures evoke the emotional and perceptual turbulence of the condition, guiding the listener through a journey of confusion and clarity. Ultimately, Static/Static not only captures the challenges of living with visual snow but also reveals unexpected perspectives. One individual finds that it makes their life "more interesting," while another couldn't imagine a world without it. The piece invites the audience to reconsider the beauty that can emerge from navigating a different world.

Hele-Mai Vettik (also known as VÜNEX) is an artist who works with sound and visuals, all interwoven with voice, flute, recorded and synthesized sounds. Her cinematic touch, both in image and sound, merges with nature-inspired patterns and flow, which can be surprisingly unexpected but at the same time pleasantly recognizable.
Her musical journey began at Nõmme Music School, studying the flute for 7 years. After that, she developed a deep interest in photography and film, during which time she made numerous photoshoots, music videos and short films. Later on, she started writing and producing music. Yearning to get to know music more deeply, she decided to go to the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater to study audiovisual composition under Einike Leppik and Paolo Girol in 2022. Today, she creates audiovisual works and writes songs that reflect her behavior patterns and world of thought.

„draum ́ea“ is an audiovisual piece describing the inbetween area of the touched & untouched terrains of earth, surfing through the controlled and uncontrolled waves of chaos, having to deal with unexpected detours along the way & somehow still trying to make it to the desired destination. Exploring a variety of textural ideas both sonically & in picture to create an transcendental environment on its own, in the frames of an 8.2 speaker configuration.

Uku Õunapuu is an audiovisual artist, with roots in electronics & a tendency of looking for new ways to approach the essence of sound. Discovering the world of hauntology in his works, the value of seen-but-not-really remains as one of the key elements when it comes to playing with the audience's perception of timeline in the pieces. As a sound worker, his palette ranges from field recordings & odd-ones from the archive to experiments in the realm of analog synthesis & natural instruments, combined with often stretched out & modified video sequences of cryptic visual materials.

The premieres are the bachelor's final projects in audiovisual composition by Hele-Mai Vettik and Uku Õunapuu.
