Now 88-year-old Yoko Ono, who started from the Fluxus movement, has throughout the decades created a unique language through a shifting sense of humour and controversy. The reaction to her personal life and art has been passionate. In sincerity and boldness her message is magnetic, disarmingly honest, offering answers such as war is over, if you want it; I love you Earth; etc.
We are interested to drift through similar keywords and paradoxes - intimacy and sincerity, secret language and message, conscious “misreading”. During the residency we want to look deeper into Yoko Ono’s cognitive principles, to explore and experiment, to create accordingly.
